Gifted Child of Deaf Adults (CODA) | 5 Years Old Ilona
Ilona, a 5-year-old CODA (Child of Deaf Adult), explains that she was born hearing and had five brothers and sisters who all are deaf. She comes from the 4th Deaf family generation. Though her signing skills are superior, the Deaf family communicates with her in entire sign language! Her mother thought she was deaf for a whole year before discovering she was hearing.
