Heavy cargo. Precise ex*****on. Two voyages on MV Hilke.

MV Hilke was recently captured carrying out a heavy lift operation in Hvide Sande, Denmark. Across two voyages, she transported a total of 11 floating foundation components for BMS A/S, with individual pieces measuring up to 54.73 m in length and weighing up to 596 tonnes.

What made this operation particularly demanding was the combination of heavy cargo and Hvide Sande’s port restrictions: a maximum vessel draft of 6.5 metres and a maximum vessel length of 140 metres. Handling heavy units within these parameters called for the right vessel capabilities, careful planning and precise ex*****on.

Close coordination between ship and shore ensured a safe and smooth operation from start to finish.

𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗸 – 𝗛𝗟𝗩 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗥𝗧𝗚𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗸!

At around 150 t each, they’re well within the lifting capacity of our two 900 t capacity cranes. But when it comes to the dimensions and shape of these RTGs, that’s where our engineering expertise really comes into play, nothing our Senior Port Captain Patrick Lieuw and experienced crew can’t handle!

The RTGs have now arrived safely at Khor Fakkan, where our client Gulftainer will put the new equipment to work in their port.

That’s a wrap on WindEnergy Hamburg 2026!

Four days filled with great conversations, valuable exchanges and plenty of discussions about the projects and marine challenges shaping the wind energy sector.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by the JSI Alliance booth, shared their ideas with us and took the time to connect with our team. It was great to meet familiar faces, make new connections and hear more about the projects ahead – from complex transport requirements to offshore installation scopes.

The exhibition may be over, but the conversations don’t have to be.

25 years of SAL China!

In 2001, SAL took an important step in its international journey by opening its first overseas office in Shanghai. Twenty-five years later, what started as a small representative office has grown into a fully integrated Harren Group presence in Greater China.

Along the way, our team has expanded its expertise far beyond heavy lift and project cargo – supporting complex MPP and semi-submersible transport solutions and delivering projects across industries ranging from petrochemicals and infrastructure to offshore renewables.

But 25 years are about much more than projects and milestones. They are about the people, partnerships and trust that have made this journey possible.
