No proof of vaccination or test certificates are required for travelling with the BTE AutoReiseZug.
Only after the Check-in on the station premises and on the train outside of your compartment wearing an FFP2 (or comparable) mask is mandatory.
Please note, however, the test or requirements announced by the authorities for your target country or region as well as possible quarantine regulations for your journey or returning home.
Before starting your journey, please inform yourself about the currently valid regulations on the official websites of governments or authorities, since we cannot provide any information on the applicable regulations.
In accordance with our current T&Cs, we accept no liability (e.g. refunds) for restrictions arising from your travel planning that arise in connection with corona regulations.

Many customers want their vehicle to be loaded on the lower loading level.
Unfortunately, this is not always possible - because the maximum height on the lower level, including all attachments and superstructures, is 158 cm.
For motorcycles, vintage cars and convertibles, this height is in most cases sufficient to load them on the lower level.
All higher vehicles must go to the upper level. There, each vehicle is assigned a special place depending on the height and roof width.
For our colleagues at the terminals, especially during the holiday season, it is sometimes a challenge to pre-sort at the terminals and place all vehicles in the correct order.

Viele Kunden wünschen sich, dass ihr Fahrzeug auf der uneteren Verlade-Ebene verladen wird.
Dies ist jedoch leider nicht immer möglich - denn die maximale Höhe auf der unteren Ebene beträgt, inklusive aller An- und Aufbauten, 158 cm.
Für Motorräder, Oldtimer, und Cabrios ist diese Höhe in den allermeisten Fällen ausreichend, um sie unten zu verladen.
Alle höheren Fahrzeuge müssen auf die obere Ebene. Dort wird dann je nach Höhe und Dachbreite jedem Fahrzeug ein spezieller Platz zugewiesen.
Für unsere Kollegen an den Terminals, vor allem in der Ferienzeit, manchmal eine Herausforderung, alle Fahrzeuge in der richtigen Reihenfolge an den Terminals vorzusortieren und zu platzieren.

Nicht einmal 160 Kilometer sind es vom Terminal Hamburg aus bis zur dänischen Grenze und nur ca. 300 Kilometer bis auf die Insel Rügen.
Vom Terminal Lörrach bis zum Genfer See bleibt noch eine Strecke von 250 Kilometern zu fahren, bis nach Nizza an der französichen Riviera sind es noch ca. 650 Kilometer.

The total length of a sleeper or couchette wagon is 26.4 meters. Doesn't sound like that much at first. However, our service team covers a few kilometers during such a trip and is almost always on the go for you: Checking in in your compartment, helping with the bed-making, serving breakfast, security walks during the night, tidying up and much more. Almost like a small fitness program.

Especially when it comes to getting the desired place on the BTE AutoReiseZug for large vehicles such as VW Transporter or similar vehicles or cars with mounted roof boxes. Denn diese Plätze sind vor allem in der Sommerzeit schnell ausgebucht. Grundsätzlich gilt inklusive aller An- und Aufbauten eine maximale Höhe von 205 cm mit einer Dachbreite an der höchsten Stelle von 135 cm. Weicht Ihr Fahrzeug nur minimal von den Maßen ab oder ist ein Stellplatz nicht mehr verfügbar? Dann wenden Sie sich einfach per E-Mail an [email protected]. Traveling in a sleeping car offers you a comfortable way to and from your holiday.
The sleeping compartment can only be booked as a whole compartment - for up to 3 people travelling together.
You sleep in comfortable beds and receive pillows, duvets and towels.
In your compartment there is a washing cabinet with a basin, mirror and sockets.
In the evening you will receive a welcome gift, the next morning you will start the day strengthened with breakfast, served in your compartment.
The whole sleeping cars are centrally air-conditioned.
