Don’t worry, your eyes aren’t deceiving you: these are indeed People from Hamburg in Lederhosen and Dirndls. And yes, everything is perfectly alright.

Once again, we had a fantastic time at our very own Oktoberfest! With delicious food, excellent company and plenty of Bavarian spirit, our annual get-together has become a beloved September tradition.

Reason enough to dress the part, even if you’re from the North. Prost!

Let’s celebrate World Maritime Day!
Why? More than 80% of global trade by volume is carried by sea. Chances are, you’ve already handled plenty of objects today that crossed an ocean at some point on their journey.
To mark the day, landmarks around the world, including bridges, ports and lighthouses, are illuminated in maritime blue.
This year’s theme, “From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence,” gets to the heart of what keeps the maritime world running: even the best policies only work when they’re put into practice.
On board, that means regular training and drills, like this lifeboat manoeuvre, so everyone knows what to do when it really matters.
Happy World Maritime Day to everyone at sea and ashore who keeps our industry moving safely.

SMM 2026 – Where the maritime world meets.

From 1 to 4 September 2026, Hamburg once again became the meeting point for the international maritime industry.
SMM – the world’s leading maritime industry event – brought together around 2,300 exhibitors from 66 countries and more than 50,000 participants at the Hamburg exhibition grounds.

From shipbuilding and shipping to suppliers, classification societies and technology companies – SMM brings together the entire maritime value chain under one roof.

For our apprentices, visiting SMM is always a great opportunity to experience the Industry and get to know the people and companies behind it.
It is also a chance to meet suppliers and business partners in Person and make those first valuable connections within the maritime industry.

Because a career in shipping is not only about knowing the industry – it is also about knowing the people who shape it.

Our vessel RDO Glory has been on a tight schedule over the past weeks, calling at many ports in quick succession. Here she is leaving Tanger Med at night, heading towards Algeciras, with the forward tug approaching.

Her crew has been just as busy — managing port after port with hardly any time to breathe, yet keeping everything running smoothly.

Offen Group on the run!

B2Run, one of Europe’s largest business running series, came to Hamburg, and for the very first time, an Offen Group team joined a field of 9,700 runners!

16 colleagues laced up their running shoes and took on the 5.6 km course, enjoying a great evening of running, team spirit and a spectacular finish inside Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion.

We had a lot of fun at this well-organized and uplifting event, and some of our runners even set new personal bests.

Thank you all for sharing this lovely evening with us and getting active together.

A look behind the scenes at EUROGATE.

Our apprentices recently had the opportunity to visit EUROGATE together with fellow apprentices from Sartori & Berger.

During the visit, they got an up-close look at the terminal operations and the equipment used to handle containers – including this Van Carrier, an essential part of the day-to-day operations at the terminal.

But the real highlight? The exchange.
Different companies, different perspectives, one shared passion for the maritime industry.

Because the future of shipping is not only shaped by technology and operations – it’s shaped by the people who are curious enough to ask questions, open enough to share ideas and motivated enough to keep learning.

Always a pleasure to host a guest from the animal kingdom on one of our ships. Our Second Mate on CPO BILBAO had the chance to capture this iridescent Eurasian kingfisher taking a well-earned rest on the pilot ladder while the vessel was en route to Damietta, Egypt.
So don’t worry: if you’re tiny and adorable, you’re always welcome on board.

On a day like this, with grey clouds hanging low over Hong Kong, a splash of pink is just what you need to brighten the mood.
Our good vessel RDO ENDEAVOUR was happy to oblige, as she happened to be in the neighbourhood, passing Hong Kong on her way to Shekou.
Turns out, carrying all those pink boxes serves more than one purpose.

Safety starts with being prepared.

This photo captures the crew of CPO Trieste gathering for their weekly safety drill.
Led by the Second Officer, these drills are an essential part of life at sea, giving the crew the opportunity to regularly train different emergency procedures and strengthen their response as a team.

Every drill is different, but the goal remains the same: to be prepared when it matters most.

A regular part of life on board — and an important reminder that good preparation starts long before an emergency occurs.
