Wrapping up our afternoon, we headed over the bridge at Vila Real de Santo António into Spain - the last country of our trip!
Our last checkpoint: the most southern point of mainland Europe - Tarifa!

Heading south from the most western point, we crossed from Portugal into Spain down near Vila Real de Santo António. Before crossing the bridge over the river that splits the two countries, we headed down to the very south-eastern tip of Portugal, towards the little lighthouse at the end of a very narrow sandy road. Absolutely stunning in the sunset, what a way to send us off into the next country!
