NÜWIEL turns 10 years old! 🎉

When we started back in 2016, “urban mobility” was mostly a concept you’d find in academic papers. Today, those ideas are actually out there on the streets, and we’re proud to have played a part in making that shift happen.

We won’t sugarcoat it: the current economic landscape is incredibly challenging for everyone. Navigating these times takes resilience. But it also reinforces our core mission: to constantly adapt, listen to our customers, and keep supporting people, businesses, and cities in their transition to a smarter, more inclusive, and sustainable future.

225 kilometers. 270 kilograms. Zero emissions. 🌍🔋

To put dokar 2.0 to the ultimate real-world test, Wiesje and Reinout cycled 225 km from Breda to Aalst, passing straight through the heart of Antwerp.

Over six days, they transported a complete setup weighing an impressive 270 kilograms!

The result? Pure joy. The eTrailer quietly handled the heavy load, making 270 kg feel weightless, even in busy city traffic. No stress. No heavy pulling. No unstable riding.

This journey showed what's possible when art meets smart technology: long distances become more accessible, heavy loads become manageable and culture can travel sustainably.

The road ahead is wide open.

From a wobbly prototype to an engineered mobile studio. ⚡️🔧

Dokar 1.0 proved the idea worked but it wasn't built for the long haul. Long distances were exhausting, and the ride lacked the stability needed. Wiesje needed an upgrade!

Her search led her to the , where she discovered NÜWIEL. It was a perfect match: an artistic vision met the right technology.

After weeks of prototyping, sawing, and fine-tuning, Dokar 2.0 was born, built directly on the NÜWIEL eTrailer base.

The result: A tighter turning circle, smoother ride without unexpected shocks and an enormous carrying capacity to take the dark room studio anywhere.

The road ahead was finally wide open. 🚲✨

A crazy idea. A paper napkin. A traveling darkroom. 🚲✨

Meet and , a creative duo from Breda, Netherlands, who capture raw human stories through analog photography.

A few years back, Wiesje had a wild idea: Why keep the darkroom hidden away in a studio?
Inspired by her father’s traveling circus trolley, she sketched an idea on a napkin and built the very first dokar 1.0 — a mobile darkroom on wheels.

The experiment was fascinating! But pulling that heavy wooden carriage by muscle power alone turned a jurney into an exhausting, wobbly test of endurance.

Still, Wiesje knew one thing for sure: the idea had huge potential.
