Frankfurt–Hahn Airport (German: Flughafen Frankfurt-Hahn, IATA: HHN, ICAO: EDFH) is an international airport located 10 km (6.2 mi) from the town of Kirchberg and 20 km (12 mi) from the town of Simmern in the Rhein-Hunsrück district of Rhineland-Palatinate to the west of central Germany. Despite the name, the airport is about equidistant between Frankfurt and Luxembourg – about 120 km (75 mi) to each city by road. It is closer to the German cities of Koblenz at about 70 km (43 mi) and Mainz at about 90 km (56 mi). The airport officially changed the name from Hahn to Frankfurt–Hahn at the same time as Ryanair started flying there. In 2002 Lufthansa took out legal proceedings against Ryanair, claiming the usage of "Frankfurt" in the airport's name to be deceptive advertising, however Lufthansa lost;[1] in a similar case regarding another airport name Ryanair lost.[2] Until 2009 the airport was owned by Fraport, which also operates Frankfurt Airport.[3] In 2016 Frankfurt Hahn Airport served 2.60 million passengers slightly down from 2.66 million in 2015.

Kutaissi, drittgrößte Stadt Georgiens, ist das neue Ziel, das Wizz Air ab dem 19.12.19 dreimal pro Woche anbietet.
Ryanair wird ab dem 20.10.19 zweimal wöchentlich Flüge vom Flughafen Frankfurt-Hahn zum ukrainischen Flughafen Kiev-Boryspil anbieten. Ebenfalls ab Oktober wird die neue Destination Palermo, Hauptstadt der italienischen Insel Sizilien, dreimal wöchentlich von Ryanair angeboten. Flugtickets können ab sofort auf den Webseiten der Fluggesellschaften gebucht werden

Im Jahr 2017 verkehrte der Flughafen Frankfurt Hahn 2,472.198 Millionen Passagiere oder knapp 2,47 Millionen Passagiere, was gegenüber dem Wert von 2.609.156 oder 2,60 Millionen im Jahr 2016 rückläufig ist. Hoffentlich wird 2018 eine Rückkehr zum Wachstum für den Flughafen bringen.

In 2017 Frankfurt Hahn Airport served 2.472.198 million passengers or in short 2.47 million passengers which is a decrease from 2016s figure of 2,609,156 or 2.60 million in short. Hopefully 2018 will bring a return to growth for the airport.
