Trust that travels far

Perdita Lübbe-Scheuermann and her team at "Rettet das Nashorn" (Save the Rhino) have trusted us for years to fly trained dogs to South Africa, where they support the fight against rhino poaching. Read the full story here: https://www.lufthansa-cargo.com/en/-/rettet-das-nashorn?cd=b

Most recently, two more dogs made the journey. But this time, the return flight carried something truly special.

Perdita, a dedicated dog trainer, met Ra Rhandzu – a blind dog in Africa. They fell in love with each other. After careful thought and consideration, she made a life-changing decision: to give him a new home in Germany.

We were honoured to be chosen to bring Ra Rhandzu safely to his next chapter.

✈️ From CAI to VNO: Delivering performance without limits

At Lufthansa Cargo, performance isn’t just what we deliver – it’s how we deliver it.

Every shipment has a purpose. Some keep industries moving. Others power ambition. And some, like this one, bring high-performance passion to life.

Recently, our CAI team handled the transport of a truly unique cargo: a professional drift car for Egyptian driver Karim Hany, competing in the Drift Masters European Championship 2026.

Built on an iconic BMW E46 and engineered for top-level competition, this shipment demanded more than standard logistics. From precise planning and careful acceptance in Cairo to secure lashing and monitoring throughout the journey via FRA to VNO, every detail mattered.

From Bavaria to Beijing – two very special passengers took off ✈️🦖

Some cargo tells a story long before it reaches its destination. This one goes back 67 million years.

Mid of April, Lufthansa Cargo transported two extraordinary “passengers” from Munich to Beijing:

Rocky and Regina, two Tyrannosaurus rex skeletons on loan from the Dinosaurier Museum Altmühltal to a museum in China.

What makes these passengers truly special?

🦖 Rocky is the only known juvenile T‑Rex skeleton in the world
🦖 Regina is a fully grown adult T‑Rex, Rocky’s mother
🦖 Quite possibly the oldest frequent flyers ever on this route

Given the exceptional nature of the transport, the excitement was palpable on the apron. The museum had brought along a replica of the t-rex head to showcase what’s inside the boxes. Ground and flight crews alike paused their daily routines to take a closer look at these prehistoric stars.

For the next weeks, Rocky and Regina will fascinate visitors in Beijing, before returning safely home to Bavaria – handled with the same care, precision and reliability that our customers expect from Lufthansa Cargo every day.

And if you’re planning a trip to the Altmühltal region in the meantime: the museum is very much worth a visit even without its two famous residents. Currently on display is “DRACULA”, a life-size reconstruction of the largest and heaviest flying reptile ever discovered. One wonders: would he have made it to China without an aircraft?

Global logistics connects cultures, science, and people – sometimes even across millions of years.

Paws against Poaching 🐾✈️

We were honored to fly two more sniffer dogs for the Rettet das Nashorn (Save the Rhino) wildlife project – proving once again that logistics is about more than moving cargo. It’s about moving what matters.

By transporting highly trained sniffer dogs, we help enable on-the-ground efforts against poaching and support those who protect endangered species.

Amid strike-related disruptions, teamwork made the difference: Passengers and dogs arrived in South Africa one day earlier than planned. The dogs are already part of their new pack, ready to protect wildlife on the ground.

A journey of impact: Visiting Cargo Human Care man Care in Nairobi

At the end of February, our CFO & CHRO Gregor Schleussner and our Head of Corporate Responsibility Bettina Petzold traveled to Nairobi to visit the incredible projects of Cargo Human Care.
They returned moved, inspired — and full of admiration for everyone bringing this mission to life.

What Cargo Human Care makes possible:
• A safe home and access to education for children at the Mothers’ Mercy Home
• Long term support into schooling, vocational training and independent futures
• Medical care through a modern health center
• Community projects such as building water wells in rural Marsabit

Gregor shared after the visit: “Cargo Human Care has achieved so much over the past nearly 20 years. I'm delighted to have met children and young people in Nairobi who have found a home and are being given the opportunity to build a better future through education and training.”

One car. One chance: A masterpiece’s race against the clock.

When a one-of-one Mansory DaMask Edition, based on the iconic Lamborghini Aventador, needed to be transported from Cairo to Europe, the stakes were high. This was a bespoke masterpiece, built for a private collector and destined for a special event.

Time was critical, and every detail mattered.

Despite strong competition, the customer placed their trust in – knowing that transporting something truly irreplaceable requires experience, precision, and absolute reliability.

Behind the scenes, teams across continents worked seamlessly together. In Egypt, our Cairo team, in cooperation with our Ground Handling Agent CACC and trusted partner Egypt Express, ensured flawless preparation and handling.

As the aircraft arrived in Frankfurt, it was a powerful reminder that automotive logistics is not just about transport – it is about enabling customers to move the extraordinary, safely and reliably across the globe. A journey defined by trust. Delivered by teamwork.
