🌿 From the asparagus fields to foreign affairs.

Last Wednesday, our CEO Joerg Roehl attended the annual Asparagus Gala by Colonia Kochkunstverein in Cologne - where white gold met a golden opportunity to give back. ✨

A standout moment? Meeting Serap Güler, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, whose words stuck with us: personal connections are everything in diplomacy, no matter the size of the nation.

In logistics, we feel that deeply. Trust, relationships and expertise are how we move things forward. 🤝

And the real star of the evening? All proceeds went to Kinderklinik Amsterdamer Straße. Because moving things forward means caring for our communities, too. 💛

One click in iShip. A Boeing 747-8 freighter at the other end of the journey. ✈️

Recently, we took a group of iSHIP clients behind the scenes at the UPS Supply Chain Solutions Airhub in Köln Bonn Airport, the second-largest UPS air hub in the world. After a kick-off dinner, we walked through the sorting facility, out onto the apron, and into the belly of a 747-8 freighter itself.

The scale of the Airhub is hard to grasp until you stand inside it. The sorting centre alone covers the equivalent of around ten football pitches, and during the main sorting window between 11 pm and 2:30 am, roughly 3,500 people keep up to 190,000 parcels per hour moving through the system. Every night, 49 aircraft land and depart, and around 300 trucks and vans come and go.

What stays with you isn't the size of any single aircraft, but the choreography around it: the systems, hubs, people and planes moving in sync every single night so that a parcel booked in the morning can land on the other side of the world by the next day.

Behind every shipment is a much bigger picture.

Recently, our team visited the Canton Fair in Guangzhou, the world’s largest trade fair and one of the key meeting points for global trade and supply chains. 🇨🇳

For us, being there was about more than attending a trade show. It was about meeting people, strengthening relationships and staying close to the markets and supply chains our customers operate in every day.

During the fair, we also had the opportunity to meet directly with suppliers of our customers on site, something that reflects how closely we work within their supply chains.

Köln Bonn Airport is gaining momentum. And the industry is taking notice.

Last week, our CEO Joerg Roehl joined a high-level panel at the CGN Cargo Forward Event, moderated by Monica Molitor, alongside Olivier van Aken, Kendy Choi, Serkan Eren, Jan Heitmann and Christian Biesecke. Together, they brought sharp, practical perspectives from across the entire air cargo value chain.

The focus was clear: how CGN can strengthen its position alongside major hubs like Frankfurt and Liège.

The panel addressed challenges openly, from handling and process inefficiencies to customs complexity. But the discussion didn’t dwell there. It quickly shifted to solutions. Together, the panel defined clear, practical measures: optimise processes, strengthen collaboration and reduce friction across the ecosystem. Steps that can make a difference in the near term.

From Beijing to Berlin: delivering creative vision, not just cargo.

For the exhibition “Vital Architecture – Between Idealism and Reality” at Aedes Architecture Forum, MBS Logistics ensured that visionary ideas could cross borders safely and on time.

Moving 16 carefully packed crates, including highly sensitive architectural models, across continents is never just transport. It requires precision, coordination and a clear understanding of what’s at stake. From sea freight to rail, trucking, interim storage and final on-site delivery, every step was aligned to meet a strict deadline ahead of the opening.

Handling fragile, custom-built crates and delivering them directly into the exhibition space demanded more than standard logistics. It required care, experience and seamless international coordination. This is where really makes the difference.

Projects like this show what logistics can really do. They connect disciplines, people and perspectives – linking architecture, culture and international exchange.
