Due to the continuous expansion of our Team, we are looking for a
Vessel Operator (f/m/d)
for our head office in Buxtehude
Your main tasks are:
• Coordination of the day-to-day operational activities of vessels ensuring compliance with the agreed charter party terms. (Voyage and Time Charter)
• Preparing and issuing orders including but not limited to voyage, loading and discharge instructions.
• Liaising with ship brokers, ship owners, port agents, bunker traders and our offices in Germany and Spain to ensure efficient workflow.
• Ordering of bunkers and monitoring of bunker consumption.
• Managing vessel accounts, collecting freight and update voyage calculations.
• Overview of the financial aspects of the particular voyages.
• As Vessel Operator you are an open minded, capable person able to cope with a challenging, fast paced environment. You have the skills to make decisions to the benefit of the company. Preferably you provide several years of operations experience (minimum 2 years) with bulk/mpp/project cargo carriers or alternatively you have a nautical background. You have good communication and organization skills. You are flexible and you have no problem to be available when the job asks for it.
Your qualifications are:
• Vocational education or university studies in ship brokerage/operations
• Minimum 2 years of experience in operations of sea-going vessels
• High sense of team spirit / good “team-player”
• Good communication skills
• Fluent in English in writing and oral
• Ability to handle a fast-paced working environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and highly analytical person
• Ability to work independently and take decisions based on a sound commercial awareness
• Capability of handling numerous projects simultaneously and see changes as opportunities
• Computer literate, skills with the common shipping calculation/operation and communication systems would be appreciated
