How do we move the world forward – responsibly?

At Harren Group, sustainability is more than reducing emissions. It is about investing in our people, strengthening our governance, and continuously improving the way we operate at sea and ashore.

Our Sustainability Report 2026 highlights the progress we made throughout 2025 – from the delivery of our highly efficient Orca Class vessels and the use of biofuels, to investments in training, safety, employee wellbeing, and sustainable infrastructure.

The report reflects our commitment to creating long-term value for our customers, colleagues, partners, and the communities we serve.

Because sustainable progress is only possible when people, innovation, and responsibility work hand in hand.

𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻: When responsibility takes you places.

At Harren Group, learning doesn’t just happen at your desk – it happens in real situations, with real responsibility.

Meet Jan Malte Koch, one of our apprentices, who recently travelled to Asia on short notice to deliver an important component for one of our vessels currently in the yard.

From coordinating logistics to ensuring everything arrived on time, this was more than just a trip – it was a hands-on experience that shows what early responsibility can look like in shipping.

Because at Harren, we believe in trusting people early – and giving them the chance to grow through real-world challenges.

𝗪𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗲𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 – 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁!

Recently, 30 colleagues from Bremen and Hamburg came together for a cherished tradition: the corporate running event B2Run. With great team spirit, our runners enjoyed the sporting competition, racing alongside 11.500 participants from more than 500 companies.

Team Harren Group brought together a fantastic mix of colleagues from across all kinds of departments and levels – from managing directors to apprentices and trainees, long-term employees and newly joined team members. Together, we embodied what makes our company special: diversity, dedication, and true team spirit.

The 6.1 km course took us along the scenic River Weser and ended with an epic finish inside the Weserstadion, home of Werder Bremen. After the race, we celebrated with snacks, drinks and plenty of laughs, with the good vibes carrying on well into the evening.

Thanks to everyone who joined us on the track or cheered us on!

Learning at Harren Group doesn’t just happen behind a desk – it happens through shared experiences, open exchange, and the people willing to pass on their knowledge.

Recently, the first session of 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘈𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘺 – 𝘉𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘴 & 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 brought together apprentices and trainees from across the group for an interactive learning session on crane stability, hosted by Morten Hinrichs.

During the 90-minute session, participants gained practical insights from real project operations, asked questions, and exchanged ideas in a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere. And of course, no good conversation ends without pizza.

The new format reflects our ongoing commitment to learning, development, and knowledge sharing across generations and disciplines. Because in an industry shaped by experience, passing on expertise matters.

A big thank you to Morten and everyone who joined the kick-off session and made the first edition such a success. We’re already looking forward to the next one.

What defines an industry that never stands still?

Dr. Martin Harren, owner and CEO of Harren Group, recently shared his perspective on the forces shaping breakbulk and project logistics today in an episode of Voices of Breakbulk Events & Media Europe by Project Cargo Professionals.

From an unconventional path into shipping to building one of the world’s leading heavy lift groups, the conversation highlights a clear mindset: long-term thinking, controlled risk and a strong focus on resilience. It also offers insight into the strategy behind the Orca Class, the interplay between SAL, SAL Intermarine and Combi Lift, and how shifting market dynamics continue to reshape the industry.

A perspective that continues to guide how we think, act and move forward as a group.
