When faced with a 1,040-metric-ton substation at Hamriyah Port, UAE, our team delivered a solution that combined precision engineering and operational excellence.

From designing a 75-meter ramping structure to implementing a custom securing system, every detail was engineered to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability. This is what we do best: solving challenges others consider impossible.

Behind the last successful delivery of Europe’s most sustainable ethane cracker construction project was a series of complex engineering challenges… nd we developed tailored solutions for each.

⚙️ When loading modules up to 1,040 MT and 67 meters long, standard solutions weren’t enough. Our team designed a 75-meter ramping structure using steel and azobe wood mats to overcome quay limitations, implemented dual SPMT lines with 50 axles each, and conducted structural assessments for barge loading.

⚙️ To protect cargo integrity, we engineered a unique securing system with transversal and longitudinal bracings, allowing controlled vertical displacement and mitigating vessel deflection, all under strict timelines and rerouting via the Cape of Good Hope.

This is what engineering for the extraordinary looks like.

Transporting oversized cargo through restricted areas is an engineering challenge that demands precision, planning, and collaboration.

For this project, we partnered with deugro to deliver critical cargo units through extremely tight spaces on-site. To ensure safety and efficiency, we applied detailed engineering methods:

👉 Swept Path Analysis
Horizontal and vertical simulations were conducted to predict vehicle trajectories and clearance requirements. This allowed us to identify potential collisions with existing structures and road furniture before ex*****on.

👉 Obstacle Mitigation
By analyzing simulations early, we pinpointed areas of interference and coordinated removal of obstacles ahead of transport, reducing risk and delays.

👉 Clearance Optimization
Every move was executed with a minimum clearance of 100 mm, ensuring safe passage without compromising structural integrity or operational timelines.

This operation formed part of the delivery of critical out-of-gauge components for a pulp fabrication facility in Uruguay. Our approach ensured safe transport and supported the project’s timely ex*****on.

Transporting a 25,778 CBM LNG module from barge to vessel required a tailored engineering approach.

To ensure a safe and efficient transfer, our team recalculated and refined the seafastening plans, streamlining operations, reducing costs, and improving performance for the client.

At the Port of Corpus Christi (USA), we designed a hybrid mooring plan that aligned both vessel and barge. To ensure a successful project, we didn’t just hand over the design, we were on site, supervising and supporting the operation from start to finish.

For a major Canadian LNG project, dteq played a key role in the successful transfer of a 1,334-metric-ton module measuring 38.3 x 31.6 x 21.3 meters from barge to deck carrier at Port Corpus Christi, USA.

Our team designed and installed custom grillage, developed a hybrid mooring plan, and optimized sea fastening strategies, reducing operational time and costs while ensuring safety and compliance.

For the first of three INEOS Project One shipments, dteq supported the safe and efficient loading of four modular buildings—each weighing between 200 and 450 tons—in the UAE for delivery to Antwerp in mid-March.

Working closely with deugro, our engineers ensured seamless planning, coordination, and supervision throughout the operation.

This follows our previous involvement in the delivery of over 52,600 CBM of critical equipment from China, where dteq was responsible for method statements, interface management, and on-site supervision for cargo units weighing up to 738 tons.
