During the 2026 season, it was in this environment that DHL used rail transport for the first time for racing sports logistics – a mode of transport that had long been considered too inflexible for such operations.

The introduction of battery-electric trucks faces significant challenges and bottlenecks, including a shortage of charging stations, limited available space, and narrow operational windows. Consequently, there is a growing interest in technology that decouples charging from vehicle operation: automated battery swapping.

The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) establishes a new EU-wide legal framework for packaging and packaging waste. It will come into effect on 12 August 2026. The regulation covers the entire life cycle of packaging and will be directly applicable in all member states.
