Recently at Superbooth we presented three prototypes of our new instrument: the NONLINEAR LABS C25, a digital performance synthesizer and the younger brother of our flagship synthesizer, the C15. To highlight the performance capabilities of the new C25, keyboardist Tim Sund and his trio gave several short demonstrations at the Nonlinear Labs booth. This time, the focus wasn’t on showing the sound engine’s wide range of sounds—which is already well known from the C15—but rather on its expressive playing capabilities, quick switching between sounds, and overall suitability for live band use.

On the second day of Superbooth, we once again welcomed many visitors to our booth. We were thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive reactions to the C25. Tim Sund and his trio demonstrated just how well-suited the C25 is for live performances during several short shows at the booth and later in the cinema. To wrap things up, Stephan Schmitt and David Meyer spoke about the history of the C25 and its features.

Yesterday, C15 artist Dennis Hamm performed with Thundercat on *The Tonight Show* with Jimmy Fallon. They performed their song “Walking on the Moon” from their new album *Distracted*. And of course, the C15 was there too.

We just stumbled across this slightly older video of Tim, in which he spontaneously adds a soundtrack to a video using solely the C15 by layering six sounds on top of each other. There’s no click track, and he even played the arpeggiator-like sequence at the very end live.

We had the great pleasure of meeting with keyboard great Steve Hunt at our headquarters in Berlin and showing him the C15. Afterwards we took the chance to hear him play at the Quasimodo with Chad Wackerman & the L.A. All-Stars.

The play HOPE, with texts written by Maria Milisavljević and directed by Guy Weizman, is currently running at the Thaila Theatre in Hamburg. We are delighted that musician and actor Camill Jammal has taken the C15 on stage with him for his theatre music. The play will run until mid-April. Photos by Małgorzata Majewska
