Last Thursday was Vyshyvanka Day — a Ukrainian cultural day celebrated around the world, where people wear traditional embroidered shirts to honour their heritage.

Some of our colleagues marked the occasion by coming to the office in their vyshyvankas, and we thought that deserved a photo.

Driving is in Jirka's blood—literally. His dad was a truck driver, and Jirka rode with him from an early age. At twelve, his dad let him sit behind the wheel of a truck for the first time. It was just a parking lot, but that moment never left him. Today, he has been driving for over forty years.

Before joining us, he worked as a bus driver. He came to EGT as a delivery driver and over time made the move to trucks. He has been with us for over 15 years now and drives his Volvo mostly to the United Kingdom and Ireland.

One of the strongest experiences of his career? A storm that caught him on a ferry, with waves reaching up to ten meters high.

At EGT, he values most the fact that vehicles are properly taken care of. Every company car is in excellent technical condition, and nothing gets overlooked. He also appreciates the team and the approach of his managers.

At home, you will most often find him in the garden with his family, barbecuing and tending to the plants. He also spends his free time cycling.
