METRANS IS EXPANDING ITS TERMINAL IN GĄDKI. 🚆⚙️
A major infrastructure project is currently underway at the METRANS terminal in Gądki near Poznań, Poland.
The expansion is designed to strengthen terminal capacity, improve cargo flows, and support more efficient intermodal operations in one of Central Europe’s important logistics regions.
The project has now entered a key final stage, with two modern electric RMG cranes equipped with Remote Operation System technology being lifted and installed. Construction is approximately 90% complete, with major infrastructure already in place:
✅ 750-meter-long rail tracks for train unloading fully completed
✅ Most yard surfaces, internal terminal roads, and the crane track completed
✅ Camera gates installed at truck entry and exit points, as well as at the rail gate
✅ Railway and container scales installed and commissioned
Launched in June 2025, the project is scheduled for completion on 31 July 2026.
Once completed, the expanded terminal will deliver greater handling capacity, faster container handling, and more efficient train and truck operations, further strengthening METRANS’ position in Central Europe. 🌍
Project “Improving the efficiency of intermodal transport services through the expansion of the METRANS (Polonia) sp. z o.o. terminal infrastructure in Gądki near Poznań” co-financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO).
