We are obsessed with memories in this family.
Every year I make a birthday video for the kids: a compilation of our year. Little moments, big trips, random days that didn’t feel like anything at the time.
And what’s wild is… they reference those memories.
Even the ones they were clearly too young to remember.
Somehow, the videos anchor them.
Like the memory becomes real because they can see it.
There’s actually research behind this. Our brains rebuild memories, not store them. And photos + videos help strengthen those connections.
🤔 Which honestly changed how I think about all of this.
We get a pretty short window where our kids actually want to hang with us. And it’s easy to think you’ll do more later, when life “calms down”.
But this *is* the time.
It’s why we are doing it all. Why we say “yes” often. And why I spam my stories sharing all the random things no one else probably cares about. 😬
This page is really just that…
a place for us to hold onto it a little longer.
