The Shambles was anything but a shambles!
This place is right up my alley!
Outstanding architecture from the 14/15th centuries, cobbled streets and beautiful shops. The top floors jut out over the alley. It's like stepping back in time! There's a rumour that it inspired Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter books. Another rumour is that it's England's most preserved and oldest shopping Street!
Special mention to a few of my favourite places:
It's a stunner. We have plans to return quite often after we visit family and spend a few hours at a time seeing and experiencing more!
We even spied a traditional toy shop with a chess board outside, no one around and I got a crash course in the rules. One of those silly moments that made the day even more special.
