This is a plateau just before the High Atlas in Morocco.
We left the main road because the views were getting seriously spectacular, and kept going for another few dozen minutes along a dusty, rocky track.
For a while, two little boys ran behind us. But as it started getting dark, they disappeared beyond the horizon.
The atmosphere was hard to describe: majestic mountains, complete silence and light that looked like something out of a film.
But as evening came, an icy wind picked up and the cold eventually drove us back inside the truck.
In the morning, we woke up to raindrops. A huge grey cloud was rolling towards us from the Atlas.
Anyone who knows places like this also knows that even a few minutes of rain can quickly turn into a problem. So we packed everything up a little faster than usual and moved on…
Have you ever had a travel moment where a perfectly peaceful overnight stop turned into a quick departure just a few hours later?
