Behind every published journal article is a researcher willing to revise, refine, and reimagine their work.

Today, graduate students from across the University come together for an evening of scholarly learning through a webinar entitled “From Ideas to Impact: Turning Your Thesis into a Journal Article”. Guided by Dr. Reysa Alenzuela, participants are exploring the realities of academic publishing, from strengthening manuscripts to positioning research for wider academic engagement.

As ideas are exchanged and experiences are shared, we continue to strengthen a community where research is not only completed, it is communicated, disseminated, and made meaningful.

Here's to research that reaches farther than the final defense.

SCOPUS-INDEXED Multidisciplinary Journals

A journal is not reputable simply because it is multidisciplinary, and it is not questionable just because it covers multiple fields.

The real question is: Does it connect disciplines around a meaningful scholarly purpose, or does it simply accept papers from every possible subject?

Before submitting, examine the journal’s scope, editorial expertise, peer-review standards, and overall scholarly identity.

Remember:
📚 Integration of disciplines = Multidisciplinary strength
⚠️ Collection of unrelated papers = A reason for closer evaluation

Which number has kept your Chapter 2 hostage for months?

Be honest. Your supervisor isn’t the problem.

You picked the wrong review type on day 1. That’s why every draft comes back with “unclear + restructure”.

This “goat analogy in purple blazer” broke it down. Pick by PURPOSE, not vibes:

1. Want background? → Narrative Review
2. Want to challenge weak research? → Critical Review
3. Want a rigorous answer? → Systematic Review
4. Want to map gaps? → Scoping Review
5. Want a broad understanding? → Integrative Review
6. Want a framework? → Theoretical Review
7. Want to design your method? → Methodological Review
8. Want research trends? → Bibliometric Review
9. Want effect size? → Meta-Analysis
10. Want lived experiences? → Qualitative Evidence Synthesis

📍Now comment:
“NO. 3” if Systematic Review is killing you
“NO. 9” if Meta-Analysis is the one delaying your defense
“NO. 4” if Scoping Review made no sense
