Day 3 Adventures by Disney Recap! ✴️

Another action packed day with AbD taking on new experiences while immersing ourselves into the wildlife of Costa Rica.

Starting off with the always included breakfast buffet to fuel up before hitting the road to Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge. About a two hour drive, but our wonderful guides made sure to feed us some fun facts along the way.

We then floated along the Rio Frio for over two hours pointing out the monkeys, caimans, sloths, bats, crocodiles, and birds- which we found tons of species of!! Our Costa Rican guide Bryan is a bird watcher pro and was able to give us so much information on all of the birds we saw today. It was so special having that extra touch of knowledge while out on the river.

After our “jungle cruise”, we stopped along the river for lunch (also included!) which consisted of more delicious Costa Rican food (and coffee!!!).

Our guides surprised us with an extra stop on our way back to the hotel, where we were able to see how sugar cane is harvested and made into juice along with how to make fresh tortillas. It was a delicious pit stop to learn about how Disney partners with locals for many of their experiences.

Tonight we had dinner on our own (but still covered by Disney!) and were able to enjoy a classic Costa Rican dinner at the hotel’s restaurant once again. The junior adventurers had a fun movie night planned while the adults did our own dinners!

Tomorrow is another adventurous day filled with zip lining, hot springs, and shopping- I can’t wait to share all that is next!

Day 2 Adventures By Disney Recap! ✴️

Our first true full AbD day was action packed! We started off with an included breakfast buffet at the hotel. Tinkerbell picked up our baggage and we were on our way to the Sarapiquí River for white water rafting.

The drive was about 2ish hours through two different ecosystems while we winded around a tectonic plate. We were able to see the cloud forest along with the rainforest. Our guides were able to share such interesting knowledge about different wildlife we can find in each of these ecosystems.

Once we arrived and were fitted for our vests and helmets, we had our safety orientation and hit the water! What a beautiful place to go rafting. We saw birds, monkeys, iguanas, and a mama sloth!! We spent about two hours on the water and definitely worked up an appetite.

Lunch was served by the river side and was included in our tour. I keep joking that I will never go hungry here in Costa Rica but the food is just so amazing.

About an hour drive further took us to our next hotel, Arenal Kioro Suites & Spa. This hotel is nestled just below the Arenal Volcano with insane views of the ecosystem and the volcano itself. Our room even has a volcano view! We were lucky enough to have clear skies this afternoon as we drove towards the volcano.

After getting settled we met again for our Guaro Sour Making class before dinner. We learned about the popular liqueur that is traditional to Costa Rica while making our own cocktail to enjoy.

Dinner was a classic Costa Rican spread and of course included and thoroughly enjoyed again. During our private dinner we had local performers playing music and singing for us. Then a special treat- dance classes!!

We didn’t want this day to end. I cannot wait to see where the next of the tour takes us!!

Day one had us off to a great start!

Upon landing in Costa Rica, Adventures By Disney was already waiting for me outside immigration. They then assisted with my luggage, got me loaded up into my private transfer, and whisked me away to the hotel only 15 minutes down the road.

My driver chatted with me about the history of San Jose and told me about the volcanos in the area. The drive showcased the beautiful scenic views of the surrounding volcanos all around us.

Check-in was a breeze and I spent some time enjoying the hotel grounds before having dinner with my coworker at the hotel’s restaurant (which was delicious!!). The hotel is so pretty and I can tell Disney really picked a wonderful choice.

This morning, I enjoyed breakfast at the hotel’s 24/7 cafe and then trekked off to the Hacienda Alsacia Starbucks Coffee Farm for a tour on my own. This is the first and only Starbucks Coffee Farm, where they have almost 600 acres of coffee trees that are harvested and processed right here on site. I was able to see the trees up close and learn about the cycle of a coffee bean and how they take care of their farm.

Later on, we were able to meet our guides to go over some important trip details for this week. We’re so excited to officially begin our adventure, starting with our welcome dinner tonight at 6:30PM. First up on the list for tomorrow is white water rafting- so keep following along!

Tomorrow is the day that my Costa Rica Adventures by Disney trip starts!!
