Not a single one of those big payouts! Legal action will be taken against all stakeholders
Baltimore Mayor Scott confirmed that the city is taking legal action against the stakeholders of the container ship "Dali" in response to the serious consequences of the bridge collapse.
In its legal action, the city will focus on pursuing all entities responsible for the disaster, including, but not limited to, the owner, lessee, management/operator and manufacturer of the Dali, as well as any other third parties that may have been involved. Baltimore Mayor Scott said, "We remain fully committed to Not a
supporting every citizen affected and recognize the profound impact this incident has had on all of us." To ensure that the city's interests are protected, we will move quickly to file claims against relevant parties who may be responsible. Especially given that the shipowner filed a limitation of liability petition shortly after the incident." (See shipping network article: worry finally come true! Declare general average! City attorney Thompson also expressed strong concern about the incident. "It is time for the owners, charterers, managers/operators, manufacturers, and others involved in the Dali to be held accountable for the tremendous and ongoing economic damage this tragedy has inflicted on the city of Baltimore, as well as the untold suffering it has caused to citizens, businesses, workers, and their families," she said.
Adam Levitt, co-founder of DiCello Levitt, said the law firm, which represents the city of Baltimore and its residents, plans to file significant claims for economic and environmental damages. "We must ensure that these responsible entities are held accountable for the emotional and significant economic losses endured by the city of Baltimore and its residents," he stressed.
