REAL SHIPMENT CHECK: Mixed cargo with batteries needs more than a
general product name
A published QIFLY shipment moved 150 pieces of electronic alarm clocks
and garments from China via Hong Kong (HKG) to Mexico City Santa Lucía
(NLU):
• 2,910 kg gross weight
• 2,910 kg chargeable weight
• Flight CV5932
• Airport-to-airport air freight
• AWB 172-62967041
The redacted air waybill also records lithium-ion batteries under
Section II of PI967. This is the operational detail that matters:
describing the shipment only as “electronics and garments” is not
enough for an air booking.
Before cargo handover, the forwarder and shipper should align:
1. The exact product description and whether batteries are installed
in or packed with the equipment
2. Piece count, gross weight, dimensions and chargeable-weight data
3. Booking details, packing list, labels and air waybill instructions
4. The agreed destination scope
For this case, QIFLY arranged airport-to-airport air freight. Import
clearance, duties, taxes and inland delivery in Mexico were outside
the published scope unless separately agreed.
