SHIPPING AUTOMOTIVE PARTS FROM CHINA TO THE UK? CONTROL PART NUMBERS
BEFORE DISPATCH
A delivery can arrive on time and still create problems if cartons are
difficult to identify. A mixed shipment of filters, lighting
components, brackets or replacement parts may contain similar-looking
packages, while one wrong label can delay receiving and stock
allocation.
Before collection, ask each supplier to provide a packing list showing:
• Product name and part number
• Quantity per carton and total quantity
• Carton number and total cartons
• Gross weight and outer dimensions
• Supplier or purchase order reference
• Fragile, oversized or non-stackable packages
• Cargo-ready date and collection address
The same references should appear on the cartons, packing list,
commercial invoice and warehouse receiving record. Avoid relying only
on product photos or a description such as “auto parts”. Precise
information helps identify shortages, separate suppliers and prepare
the shipment correctly.
If several factories are involved, keep each supplier’s cargo
traceable until the loading plan is confirmed. Grouping everything too
early may save a label check but make it harder to investigate a
missing carton or incorrect item later.
Packaging also deserves attention. Metal parts should be protected
against movement and surface damage; long or irregular pieces may need
special loading consideration; small fittings should be linked to the
correct main product. The best transport plan depends on the actual
size, weight, packaging and urgency.
QIFLY can coordinate supplier pickup, warehouse receiving, carton
checks, multi-supplier consolidation and China-to-UK air or sea
freight for importers and distributors sourcing from Guangzhou,
Foshan, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Yiwu and other Chinese cities.
