A new season calls for a new menu at our Bistro Grandeur 👨🏽‍🍳

During the off-season, our chefs took the time to collaborate, refine recipes and explore new flavours. The result is a carefully created six-course menu, featuring dishes such as fresh saffron infused ravioli with grilled scampi and a classic saltimbocca with green asparagus.

Whether you are sailing towards your next destination or simply taking the evening to unwind on board, Bistro Grandeur offers a setting where every moment on board is a moment well spent.

What an incredible three-day journey with 65 partners from across Europe and beyond.

Last week, we hosted a FAM trip to introduce our partners to the world of Van Loon Cruises, not through presentations, but by experiencing it firsthand.

Together, we explored Katendrecht, one of Rotterdam's most characterful neighbourhoods, including a visit to the Fenix Museum. From there, we continued to Hoorn for a walking tour and a local experience before concluding on the canals of Amsterdam.

And naturally, we travelled between destinations the way it is meant to be done, by a river cruise on board The Nobleman.

We are grateful to have welcomed such an inspiring group of partners and thank everyone for a meaningful weekend filled with great company, fine food and memorable moments.

Van Loon Cruises has reached a special milestone with the maiden call of The Gentleman in Hungary’s capital.

This achievement was made possible by the dedication and professionalism of our hotel and nautical teams. We are proud of their commitment and teamwork in making this operation a success.

What a beautiful aerial shot of The Gentleman on her journey from Main-Danube Channel towards the Danube today. The Gentleman will be cruising the Danube until the beginning of November, sailing between Passau and Budapest.

Fun fact: this photo was taken at the Eibach Lock. This is the 42nd lock counting from Mainz and plays an important role in connecting the Main and Danube rivers, making it a vital passage for inland vessels. 24 locks to go until Budapest!

To kick-off our season, we organized a charity cruise on board of The Nobleman.

Together with our guests and valued partner Quality River Catering, we raised €61,000 for Kika Kinderenkankervrij supporting research to improve treatments and increase survival rates for children with cancer.

A special way to create a memorable experience for our guests and crew, while giving back where it truly matters.

Teamwork makes the dream work💯

The season is about to start, but not without an upgraded menu for our Baroness Restaurants. This week, the chefs and kitchen teams from The Nobleman and The Gentleman came together to combine strengths and flavours.

A process of preparing, testing, cooking, tasting and working together resulted in a series of new dishes that we cannot wait to serve during this season's cruises💪🏼.

Yesterday, more than 55 stakeholders convened on board The Gentleman for a constructive dialogue on the future of tourism in the city of Amsterdam. The meeting brought together members of the international river cruise community to exchange insights and perspectives.

As of 2024, the city of Amsterdam reduced the number of river cruise vessels entering the city. This policy will have significant implications for both the river cruise industry and the overall flow of tourism. During an open discussion organized by IG RiverCruise and River Cruise Europe, a wide range of valuable viewpoints were shared.
