This is not your average salad on the side.

Our Restaurant Baroness takes the classic Salad Niçoise and gives it a fresh touch. Tuna sashimi, haricots verts, confit potato, egg crumble, Taggiasca olives, heirloom tomato, anchovy, basil mayonnaise and Niçoise dressing come together in a light dish full of flavour.

A reminder that dining on board can be fresh, refined and just a little surprising.

Some parts of a river make you slow down and look twice. The Schlögener Schlinge is one of them.

Here, the Danube makes an almost 180-degree turn through the hills of Upper Austria, creating one of the most remarkable bends along the route.

It is one of those moments that shows what river cruising is all about. Not just travelling from one destination to the next, but enjoying everything the river reveals along the way.

There is something about Happy Hour on the water during summer.

A tropical cocktail, a refreshing Gin-Tonic or simply your favourite drink, prepared by Ahmet or one of his fellow bartenders. Our bar team makes sure the evening starts just right.

A broken night light, a routine technical inspection, engine maintenance or an unexpected issue that needs immediate attention – these are all part of a typical day for Tache Toma, one of our Engineers on board The Gentleman.

Tache has been with Van Loon Cruises during the construction of The Gentleman. Originally from Romania, he knows every corner of the ship and is responsible for everything, from the smallest technical details to the complex systems that keep the vessel running safely and smoothly.

Most of his work takes place behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout the ship. Thanks to his expertise, dedication and calm approach, both our guests and crew can enjoy every voyage with confidence.

For Chef Milivoje of The Nobleman, a great dish is all about timing, precision and attention to detail.

Every evening, together with his team, he prepares dishes that would not look out of place in a fine restaurant on shore. One of them is this season's Corn-Fed Chicken Suprême with green pea mousseline, asparagus, chestnut mushrooms and tarragon jus.

Carefully prepared, beautifully presented and enjoyed while cruising on Europe's iconic rivers. Because great dining is not only found on land, but also on board our river cruises.

A new season calls for a new menu at our Bistro Grandeur 👨🏽‍🍳

During the off-season, our chefs took the time to collaborate, refine recipes and explore new flavours. The result is a carefully created six-course menu, featuring dishes such as fresh saffron infused ravioli with grilled scampi and a classic saltimbocca with green asparagus.

Whether you are sailing towards your next destination or simply taking the evening to unwind on board, Bistro Grandeur offers a setting where every moment on board is a moment well spent.

What an incredible three-day journey with 65 partners from across Europe and beyond.

Last week, we hosted a FAM trip to introduce our partners to the world of Van Loon Cruises, not through presentations, but by experiencing it firsthand.

Together, we explored Katendrecht, one of Rotterdam's most characterful neighbourhoods, including a visit to the Fenix Museum. From there, we continued to Hoorn for a walking tour and a local experience before concluding on the canals of Amsterdam.

And naturally, we travelled between destinations the way it is meant to be done, by a river cruise on board The Nobleman.

We are grateful to have welcomed such an inspiring group of partners and thank everyone for a meaningful weekend filled with great company, fine food and memorable moments.
