What if your apprenticeship didn’t just teach you something but actually inspired you? Sounds too good to be true? Merle says: Yes, it exists. 🙌
Merle is a second-year apprentice from Germany becoming a Freight Forwarding Specialist. She knew from before finishing school that she wanted to work in logistics. A friend then recommended Kuehne+Nagel to her, and that's where her journey began.
“I just find it really fascinating to see where things are shipped to and where the products we consume come from.” From Germany out into the world. That’s not only what Kuehne+Nagel transports every day, but also a mindset Merle carries within her. And it drives her forward. Alongside her apprenticeship, she’s currently completing an additional training to become a European Logistics Specialist. As part of that, she spent four weeks in Rotterdam last year – an experience that broadened her horizons even further.
Because she’s so passionate about the world of logistics, Merle took part in the BEST AZUBI knowledge competition, hosted by Verkehrsrundschau. Out of nearly 1,100 participants, she took third place. That’s amazing!
Having already won this award, Merle is now looking forward to her next big adventure: a stay in Helsinki through our Crossing Borders exchange programme. 😍
