It's estimated that approximately 3 million CMV drivers and their rigs hit the road every day. Out of those 3 million rigs, many will complete their trip safely and uneventfully and will never encounter a DOT inspection or be involved in an accident.

What about those who are not as fortunate? If you hold a CDL and operate a CMV, it's not "if" you're going to have an officer conduct a DOT inspection, it's "when" and it's only a matter of time.

Here's some safety tips!

1. Do your pre-trip/post-trip inspection.
2. Be polite.
3. Listen & follow instructions.
4. Image & housekeeping.
5. Be organized.
