With this weather upon us, I believe a little friendly schooling may be in order where taxi service is concerned. First let's start with the basics. I can't speak for Kendall on this, but United Woodstock Taxi shifts change at 5 am and 5 pm. Making taxi wait times a little bit longer than normal. Second, during extreme inclement weather, our call volumes increase exponentially. No one wants to drive in this weather, and we do try our best to navigate the streets as best as possible. We may drive for a living but we are not superheros. We get stuck in snow banks and driveways the same as any other driver. Third, when we have 30 calls waiting to be dispatched, it means a longer wait time. If we have 8-12 drivers on staff, each call (in this weather) could take 15-20 minutes. When dispatch stops answering the phone, it is because we simply cannot book anymore calls until we safely deliver the passengers already waiting. We try our best to give fair and accurate wait times, however, if a vehicle gets stuck or in a fender bender, that wait time will again increase. Please be patient with the drivers and dispatch we are simply trying to do our best in this weather. Be safe and expect higher than usual wait times today.
