Melius Suspension is seeking a suspension technician for the 2022 summer season. Specialist training will be provided, however this is not a role for the mechanically inexperienced - we require somebody with extensive mechanical experience.
Requirements:
- Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of mountain bike technology.
- Significant experience with at least basic suspension servicing across major brands at a minimum.
- Strong knowledge of suspension fundamentals. You don't need to know every single thing about every single product but if you would struggle to tell the difference between a damper and a spring then this is not the job for you.
- Good understanding of the bike industry, its major players and their product offerings.
- The discipline to pay attention to detail even during the difficult, repetitive or boring stuff that's part of the job.
- Solid interpersonal & customer service skills.
- Experienced and enthusiastic mountain biker. You don't need to be a pro rider but you do need to be competent and experienced.
- The ability to precisely and thoroughly follow instructions.
- The ability to be logical and rational about your work and how it might evolve and improve over time.
- The understanding that this is sometimes a very difficult and demanding job that will cause you great frustration from time to time.
- Enough initiative and resourcefulness to find out who to email your cover letter and resume to in order to apply for this job. Please do NOT apply via Facebook.
Daily duties:
- Servicing, diagnostics and repair of mountain bike forks, shocks and dropper posts
- Installation/removal of forks/shocks/posts.
- Thorough inspection, functional checks and documentation of service work through established systems & processes.
- Installation of proprietary products & tuning systems as part of the service we offer customers.
- Liaising with customers to ensure their expectations and requirements are understood and specifically met.
- Assisting customers with setup & technical advice
- Preparing, assembling & shipping items
The role is full time, roughly speaking 10am-6pm Monday to Friday, although once you are up to speed and working autonomously we are able to be somewhat flexible with working hours to accommodate.
Applicants must have required work visas / permits to legally work in Canada.
We are willing to train those with strong mechanical capabilities & a proven record of quality mechanical work (ie references to back it up) in the specialist aspects of what we do, however as mentioned previously, this is not an entry- level role for mechanical newbies or those with limited experience.
