Canada's new counter-tariffs are now in effect. Is your supply chain ready?
As of September 8, 2026, Canada's counter-tariffs on U.S.-origin goods are live under the new United States Surtax Order.

Here's what importers need to know:
✅ Rates of 15%, 25%, or 50% now apply to select U.S. goods
✅ Steel, aluminum, dairy, appliances, ag equipment, pulp & paper, and electronics are affected
✅ U.S. steel and aluminum jump from 25% to 50%
✅ Origin matters more than ever, CUSMA marking rules decide what's exempt, not the shipping address
✅ Goods in transit on Sept 8 are exempt, with the right documentation

The businesses handling this well aren't guessing at tariff classifications. They're working with a customs partner who reviews every shipment before it moves.

🚢 A morning to remember at the Port of Montreal

Our team had the incredible opportunity to step aboard the Neoliner Origin, the world's largest wind-powered cargo ship, during a vessel visit organized by our partners at Montship.

Seeing first-hand how wind propulsion (3,000 m² of sail!) is being used to cut emissions by up to 80% on transatlantic routes was a powerful reminder of where the shipping industry is heading, and it's exactly the kind of innovation we love connecting our clients to.

📈 Global air cargo spot rates reached $3.40/kg in May 2026, up 41% year-over-year, highlighting the continued pressure on supply chains worldwide.
