Upon arriving Greenland, in Scoresby Sund's entrance this morning, we visited Ittoqqortoormiit, home to 350 residents. Fog prompted a change in plans, with the afternoon zodiac cruise now taking place in Storfjorden after dinner, instead of Rathbone Island, demonstrating the expedition's flexibility in response to weather and natural conditions.

Took an early morning zodiac landing to witness the breathtaking Dynjandi Falls in Iceland, bypassing the lengthy coach journey from Islafjordur and the crowds with an expedition zodiac landing. 🏞️💧🚣‍♀️🌊

Embarked the National Geographic Endurance on an expedition mainly to East Greenland. Planning to explore Scoresby Sund, the largest fjord system in the world depending on ice conditions

The NG Endurance is a small vessel which carries 138 guests with a PC5 ice rating.

We successfully sailed to South Georgia, overcoming 24 ft of swell and modifying our plan to enable thrilling landings at Hercules Bay and Fortuna Bay.
A zodiac crusing allowed us to spot Macaroni Penguins in Hercules Bay.
Fortuna Bay boasts a sizable colony of 6,000 pairs of King Penguin with their chicks, alongside with siignificant population of fur seals and their offspring.
We adhered to a strict 5M distancing protocol from the animals.

On the breathtaking Falklands, we were privileged to encounter the incredible Gentoo Penguins, and seeing numerous chicks was a heartening sight. The timing couldn't have been better to witness their remarkable breeding season. The King Penguins, with their stunning colors, were an unforgettable addition.
