Do you know a senior who is stuck at home and lonely? A good way to get them a little bit of sunshine is to get them connected to the Senior's Without Walls free telephone program. A chat on the phone can do wonders. Here's the link to get started: http://www.oacao.org/programs/seniors-centre-without-walls/

Of course, we are always here to provide in person friendly visits at an affordable price as well. Keep us in mind!

Another important article showing how badly we need friendly visiting.

Margot Algie suffers from a neurodegenerative disease and needs home care for all her daily activities. But she’s often only up for only one hour a day before another home care worker arrives to put her back to bed. A leading geriatrician says Canada needs to take a page from Denmark.

Caregiver fatigue comes on slowly and silently, and it can be almost unnoticeable to the sufferer or those around them, and caregivers often feel don't they have the option to recharge.

While the condition is not formally recognized in the Canadian medical system, physicians increasingly see evidence that the condition is prevalent.

Coming out of lockdown means we are able to help more people at Bridge n Brighten. We still wear masks, we are vaccinated, and we are ready to help lessen the load for those who have carried way too much for over two years, with fewer resources available to them.

We ask you to look around at your loved ones, friends, extended family members, and if you spot signs of caregiver fatigue, let them know we can help.

Short or continuous visits, customized plans to suit our caregivers and the ones they care for. We also have a sliding scale payment system. In fact, we are looking for both paid and volunteer visitors now so we can match people up accordingly.

Contact Us if we can help.
