Recent news stories have highlighted luggage tag switching scams at some airports. While these incidents are uncommon, taking a few simple precautions could help protect you and your luggage, and give you added peace of mind while travelling.

🔒 Travel Smart

📸 Take Photos
Before checking in, snap a few photos of:
• Your luggage
• What's inside
• Your luggage tag and baggage receipt (keep the receipt with you)

🏷️ Check Your Tag
Make sure your luggage tag is securely attached before your bag goes on the conveyor belt.

🎥 Take a Quick Video
If possible, record a few seconds of your luggage being checked in and sent down the belt.

🎒 Make Your Luggage Stand Out
Use a bright luggage strap, ribbon, cover, or tag so it's easy to spot and harder to mix up with someone else's.

📍 Use a Tracker
An AirTag or similar tracker can help you keep tabs on your luggage throughout your trip.

🔍 Check Your Luggage on Arrival
Before leaving baggage claim:
• Make sure the tag matches your receipt
• Confirm it's your luggage
• Look for any signs of tampering

🚨 If Something Seems Off
Tell the airline, airport staff, or customs officials right away.
