Vancouver is one of the best cities in the world to get around by bike, on foot, or even by skateboard. We prioritize transportation safety with a model that puts people walking first, and we build ameni

ties that make it a fun, adventurous and safe experience. The City of Vancouver has a vision to make walking and cycling safe, convenient, comfortable and fun for people of all ages and abilities. To achieve this vision, our built environment must encourage walking and cycling. Our goal is that that by 2040, at least 2/3 of all trips will be made by foot, bike and transit. This goal aligns with the Greenest City and Healthy City goals of encouraging people to use active forms of transportation both for sustainability and for personal health. Tell us what you love about getting around the Vancouver way (aka on foot, by bike, or using your skateboard/scooter/etc). Is it seeing the neighbourhood cat? Finding new hidden places in town? Running in to people you haven't seen in awhile?

Programs like BEST Mobility's Seniors Ride to the Park help older adults build confidence, stay connected to their communities, and enjoy access to healthy, affordable transportation options.

When everyone has access to safe and reliable ways to get around, our communities are stronger, healthier, and more connected.
