UBC’s Business Communications Club, or BizzComm for short, is a club based out of the Sauder School of Business that strives to provide students from every faculty with the opportunity to develop and enhance their communication and networking skills through fun and informative events. BizzComm is offering numerous events that aim to help students build their professional deportment. We hope that b
y doing so, students will be able to become better and more confident versions of themselves. As an executive member, you’ll be working alongside a team of passionate and goal oriented individuals on the following events that are designed to help students from across all faculties become better versions of themselves:
AGM: At the AGM, members will get to meet the executive team in a fun and relaxed environment in addition to getting a run down of all of our events throughout the year. Members and executive members alike will be playing games, eating food and having a good time as we kick start the 2016/2017 BizzComm year. Night With TD: (In collaboration with Student Club Alliance) Members and executive members of the BizzComm family will have first dibs to the “Night With TD” event hosted by both our club and the Student Club Alliance. Here, our members and executive members will have the opportunity to meet some of the finest TD Group team members and apply for a job on the spot! Netiquette: A play on words, “Netiquette” means “Networking + Etiquette.” At this event, the BizzComm family will be introducing a keynote speaker that will teach us all about the “Dos and Don’ts” of networking. Followed by refreshments and a networking session with over 40 business delegates from across many different industries, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the business industry. Social: BizzComm, unlike many other clubs, gives our first year representatives an opportunity that they won’t forget. Our last event of the 2016 year, the social is hosted and completely lead by our two first year representatives (this could be you!). From financials to logistics, our first year representatives will throwing an event like none other! Bootcamp A.K.A Interviewing 101: At our “Bootcamp” event, our first event of the 2017 year, we will be having a workshop on interview skills, techniques, “Dos and Don’ts” in addition to a Q&A. To top this off, we will be conducting mock interviews with real business delegates so that you can show off and practice your new and improved interview skills! This event will be our biggest event of the year. With over 150 student attendees, keynote speakers and delegates, our Flagship event aims to help students truly, “Be Bold. Be Heard.”
