Hello everybody,
We are looking for a Stanley Park Horse-Drawn Carriage Driver.
Location: Stanley Park and Downtown Vancouver, British Columbia
Seeking: Motivated, hardworking individuals who love working with horses and helping people, self-starters, able to work without supervision.
Terms of Employment: Year-round and Seasonal, Full Time and Part Time, Weekdays and Weekends. Regular over time during July and August until Labour Day, then occasional overtime during the shoulder season. Our operation is 7 days a week, therefore some workers would have their regular 2 days off in the middle of the week.
Salary: $22.00 hourly during training (it shouldn't be more than one month), then $24.00 and up once training is complete, plus tips for drivers. We also review your performance 3 months after.

CARRIAGE DRIVER:
Shifts start at 9:00am, 9:30am and 10:00am therefore generally those starting at 9:00am are the first ones to finish their day, and so on. Some days you could finish as late as 7:00pm during peak summer season, of course overtime would apply.
Requirement: Class 5 or 6 (which is regular) Valid Driver's License is required.
Duties: Duties are outdoors and include daily horse care/handling. Driving a horse-drawn carriage while narrating the tour. Describing points of interest, developing, and delivering commentaries, utilizing microphone/headset. Greeting customers and attending to their needs. Interacting with people in a helpful and friendly manner. Must be customer service oriented.
Related horse and prior carriage driving experience is required, will train.
Language: Must speak, read and write English fluently. As we are in the tourism industry staff may encounter people with many different language backgrounds so being able to speak different languages is helpful but being able to understand and speak English well is the most important thing.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, sweeping/cleaning area, carrying moderate loads short distances.
Essential Skills: Problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organizing, working with others, significant use of memory, finding information, continuous learning.
