Experienced Boat Captain Wanted - Vancouver Charter Company (Seasonal/Contract)
We’re looking for a professional, friendly, and experienced boat captain to join our growing charter company, A Boat That Life Charters, operating out of Vancouver.
This is a contract / per-booking role for the upcoming season, with strong potential for consistent work as bookings increase.
What You’ll Do:
• Safely operate a small passenger vessel (up to 10 guests)
• Host and guide guests during private charters (birthdays, sunset cruises, bachelorettes, etc.)
• Ensure all onboard safety procedures are followed
• Provide a fun, relaxed, and professional experience for guests
• Assist with docking, departure, and basic vessel upkeep
Required Certifications (Transport Canada):
• SVOP (Small Vessel Operator Proficiency)
• Marine Basic First Aid (or higher)
• MED A3 (Marine Emergency Duties – Basic Safety)
Ideal Candidate:
• Experience operating vessels in Vancouver waters
• Knowledge of local routes, anchorages, and scenic spots
• Strong docking and passenger management skills
• Outgoing, personable, and professional with guests
• Calm under pressure with strong safety awareness
Compensation:
• Paid per charter (rate based on experience)
• Tips from guests can be substantial during peak season
• Flexible scheduling

Vancouver, BC (Burrard Inlet and surrounding waters)
