IS PUNTA CANA REALLY TOO DANGEROUS TO LEAVE YOUR RESORT?

I hear this ALL the time…
“We’re going to Punta Cana, but we were told NEVER to leave the resort!”

Should you be cautious when travelling?

Absolutely.

Should you know where you’re going? Absolutely.
Does that mean you have to be afraid to step outside your resort? Not necessarily.

There is so much more to the Dominican Republic than the inside of an all-inclusive resort.

The key is to travel smart and informed.

Use reputable transportation and excursion operators, know where you’re going, protect your valuables, avoid unfamiliar areas alone at night, and always check the current Canadian travel advice before you go.
