North York Pipe & Drum Band Pipe and Drum band - no longer connected with RCL branch 66

The band was formed in 1959 with a nucleus of former members of the 177th Rover Scout Pipe Band - some of whom had served in the Armed Forces and became associated with Branch 66 in 1960. It was comprised of Veterans of such units as the 48th Highlanders, Irish Regiment, Toronto Scottish Regiment, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, Royal Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force. The Pipe Band we

re champions in the 1971 Warriors’ Day Parade in addition to many more 1st and 2nd awards in the years to follow and also in other competitions. The Pipe Band has gone through many changes over the years and, until 2019, supported Royal Canadian Legion Branch 66 by annually turning out during the gift distribution at Christmas for the Sunnybrook Veterans and Branch Memorial Parades.
