A quick update on Faro Airport, as there has been a lot of discussion online about congestion and delays.

From my experience today, I’m not sure what the issues were that others were reporting. Currently checked in with Air Transat and heading to Toronto, and the airport has been clear, efficient, and very easy to navigate.

The entire process has been smooth, including security and customs. Even going through customs took only about 10 minutes.

At least today, Faro Airport is running very efficiently and has been a pleasant experience.

I spent a week at Meliá Isla Canela Spain, located about 1 hour and 10 minutes from Faro Airport with direct non-stop flights from Toronto. Situated on the beautiful beachfront of Isla Canela Spain, this resort offers a stunning seaside setting, excellent service, and outstanding food. The hotel is just a short walk from the marina area, where you'll find plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops to enjoy for lunch and dinner. The property sits directly on a long sandy beach and offers several dining plans, including breakfast only, half board, and all-inclusive. Meliá Isla Canela is known for its beachfront location and easy access to nearby dining and shopping options.

My recommendation would be to choose the breakfast-only option. The local restaurants around Isla Canela are excellent, and dining out allows you to experience the area's fresh seafood, Spanish cuisine, and waterfront atmosphere rather than being tied to the hotel for every meal. Many travelers find that breakfast at the hotel combined with exploring local restaurants for lunch and dinner offers the best overall experience.

I spent a week in Lisbon exploring the city, sampling the local cuisine, and enjoying some excellent Portuguese wine. I visited several famous landmarks and soaked in the culture. It's definitely a must-visit destination when traveling to Portugal.

Spent the last three days in Porto and absolutely loved it. It's an amazing city with welcoming people, beautiful sights, and a great atmosphere. The city is clean, easy to explore, and surprisingly affordable for food and drinks.

We joined a walking tour and got to see all the major landmarks, which was a fantastic way to experience the city. To top it all off, today we visited the Douro Valley and toured a winery along the Douro River. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable stay.
