Visiting the Ganaraska River at Corbett’s Dam is one of the most popular spots in Ontario to witness a salmon run and honestly, I had no idea until now. We simply happened to be in the area and decided to check it out. Apparently between 5,000 and 10,000 salmon make this journey up the Ganaraska River each year.
A few things to know before you go:
📅 Best time to visit is late August through mid-October with peak season being mid-September to mid-October.
🐠 Keep an eye out for the underwater monitoring system so you can actually watch the fish underwater. We totally missed this viewing area!
🅿️ Free parking nearby.
🚽 Porta potties on site if you need them.
⏰ Go early if you can. It gets busy fast on weekends!
