💦 Happy International Waterfall Day! 💦

When most people think of waterfalls, they picture the famous ones they've seen in photos.

But some of the world's most spectacular waterfalls are found in places few travelers ever reach—hidden among the fjords of Greenland, the remote coastlines of Iceland, the glaciers of Svalbard, and the wild landscapes of Patagonia.

Most people know where they want to travel.

Or you can step onto the continent, cruise through ice-filled fjords by Zodiac, watch penguins from a respectful distance, and learn from scientists and expedition leaders along the way.

🚢 EXPEDITION MYTH vs REALITY

❌ MYTH: Expedition cruises are only for athletes and extreme adventurers.

✅ REALITY: Most expedition travelers are everyday people who simply want to experience the world in a different way.

Many guests exploring Antarctica, the Galápagos, Greenland, and the Arctic are in their 60s, 70s, and even 80s.

You don't need to run marathons.

You don't need to climb mountains.

You don't need to be an expert traveler.

What you do need is a sense of curiosity and a reasonable level of mobility to get in and out of a Zodiac and walk on uneven terrain.

One of the biggest surprises people tell me after their trip is:

"I wish I had done this sooner. It wasn't nearly as intimidating as I thought it would be."

If Antarctica, the Galápagos, Greenland, or the Arctic are on your bucket list, don't let the idea of "being adventurous enough" stop you.

I hear this all the time.

The truth is, most expedition travelers aren't athletes. You don't need to run marathons, climb mountains, or spend hours in the gym.

What you do need is reasonable mobility to:
✔ Walk on uneven terrain
✔ Get in and out of a Zodiac
✔ Navigate ship gangways

Many Antarctic travelers are in their 60s, 70s, and even 80s.

The goal isn't athletic ability—it's having the mobility to participate safely and the curiosity to explore one of the most incredible places on Earth.

This is a rather pleasant way to walk along the coast of the Algarve, Portugal. This is probably the best way to see the beautiful caves and rock formations of the Ponta da Piedade ("Point of Mercy") in Lagos, an absolutely unique place.
