Well… the secret is officially out!

If you saw our previous construction update and were one of the ones to guess what the space will become, you don’t have to guess anymore…

A brand-new, full-service restaurant and bar is coming to our departures lounge!

Soon you’ll be able to grab a meal, sit back with a drink, and enjoy a whole new dining experience before your flight.

There’s still lots of work happening behind the scenes, but things are taking shape quickly. You’ll have to stay tuned for the reveal, but we’re getting closer to the day you can officially pull up a seat!

On October 15th, we’re proud to light up our monument in two different colours in recognition of two meaningful initiatives!

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day: We’re joining landmarks around Canada & beyond, in honouring the little lives lost too soon and showing support for the families who carry their memory. This year, we're taking part in Oak’s Tree of Love’s Guinness World Records attempt for the Most Landmarks Illuminated in 24 Hours, helping shine a light on pregnancy and infant loss awareness.

National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM): We're also proud to participate in , recognizing the valuable contributions of people with disabilities in the workplace and the importance of creating inclusive and accessible employment opportunities for all.

At YQT, we're proud to support initiatives that bring awareness, encourage inclusion, and remind our community that even a simple light can carry a powerful message.

For many, this Thanksgiving weekend is all about getting together with family and friends, and we’re happy to be part of the journey that gets you there!

If you’re travelling with us this long weekend, give yourself a little extra time. Arrive early, leave some extra time for parking and check-in, and be prepared for a busier-than-usual terminal.

A big thank you to everyone working throughout the holiday weekend to help keep things moving safely and smoothly.

They may look a little different than your typical fire truck, but they’re ready when it matters most!

Our Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) trucks are a regular sight around the airfield, ready to respond to either an aircraft emergency or a medical emergency.

You might also spot them making an appearance at some of the events we host right here at YQT!

It’s just one of the many ways our team is prepared behind the scenes every day.

🚧 Phase 2 Construction Update!

Things are moving along behind the hoarding! The floor has officially been infilled, framing is underway, and HVAC and electrical work are all in progress.

With progress comes a little extra noise, so we apologize for the construction sounds you hear throughout the terminal and appreciate your patience while our crews keep things moving!

As for what we’re building… we’re keeping that under wraps for just a little longer.

We have a feeling this new addition will be worth the wait. Any guesses?

Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impacts felt by Indigenous families and communities across generations.

As we wear orange and reflect on the meaning of Every Child Matters, we are reminded of the importance of listening, learning, and acknowledging the truths of the past and present.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey. Today and every day, we remain committed to learning, reflecting, and supporting a future built on respect, understanding, and meaningful reconciliation.

One week later, we’re still flying high after Girls in Aviation Day! ✈️

Organized by the Thunder Bay International Airport and hosted at Confederation College's ACE, the event gave girls a hands-on look at where a future in aviation could take them, from flying and aircraft maintenance to careers across the industry.

It was a great day of exploring, asking questions and connecting with people working in aviation. Thank you to Thunder Bay Airport, participating organizations and everyone who helped the next generation see the possibilities waiting for them in this field.
