Today we celebrated the official ribbon cutting of our new pre-board screening area!

We’re incredibly proud of our continued partnership with CATSA and excited to see this new space officially in action. With more room for passengers to move through the screening process, this expanded and refreshed area is another important step in our ongoing terminal improvements, helping us better serve our passengers and create a smoother, more comfortable travel experience.

We also took a look back at just how far we’ve come, with photos showing what this same space looked like in 2019 and all the way back in 2011. It’s great to see the progress we've made, and to see how much our terminal has changed over the years!

A big thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life!

Girls in Aviation Day is almost here! 🩷

We have a full day of fun, hands-on activities planned for September 18th, giving girls ages 8–18 the chance to explore the exciting world of aviation!

From interactive activities and a flight simulator to meeting people who work in the industry, there will be lots to see, try, and learn throughout the day.

We're excited to once again partner with the City of Thunder Bay to bring back the spectacular drone show after last year's success.

Join us for the Live on the Waterfront Summer Send-Off on August 27 at Marina Park. Enjoy great local music, delicious food, and great summer vibes from 6:00–9:30 p.m., then look to the sky for a breathtaking drone show over the waterfront.

You can always count on our Facilities team to keep things moving around YQT!

They may not always be front and centre, but they're behind the scenes every day making sure our airport stays safe, clean, and running smoothly. From ongoing projects (like our parking lot construction) to everyday maintenance, they're always hard at work.

It's nice to catch a few smiles while they're out and about! If you see our Facilities team around the terminal, be sure to give them a wave.

We're excited to host our first-ever Girls in Aviation Day, a fun, interactive event for girls ages 8–18 to explore the many career opportunities in aviation. Throughout the day, participants will meet industry professionals, take part in hands-on activities, and discover just how many exciting paths the aviation world has to offer.✈️

There will be plenty to experience, including a flight simulator, interactive displays, and opportunities to connect with women working across the aviation industry.
Teachers - if you have students who would enjoy this opportunity, we'd love to see your class there! Families and individual participants are welcome too.

If you're renting a vehicle when you arrive at YQT, here's a quick heads-up!🚗

As we move into Phase 2 of construction and continue expanding our terminal's interior footprint, our car rental counters have been temporarily relocated. The previous rental booths are now behind construction hoarding walls, and each rental company can now be found in standalone booths located in the middle of the terminal.

Just follow the signs when you arrive, and you'll be on your way in no time.

Thank you for your patience as we continue making improvements to the terminal!
