💙 A Quick Service Update from the Thunder Airlines Team
We wanted to give everyone a heads-up about a few temporary changes.
Our cargo aircraft is scheduled for its annual inspection. We’re still accepting cargo, but larger shipments may take a little longer to reach their destination. If you’re able to pack your shipment into smaller boxes, it will help us move cargo more efficiently while our aircraft is away.
We’re also currently experiencing staffing shortages.. on the ground. You may notice longer wait times at our gate or when visiting our front office. Our team is giving it their all every day, and we truly appreciate your patience and kindness as they work hard to serve our passengers and communities.
If your request isn't urgent, the fastest way to reach us may be by email at [email protected].
Thank you for your understanding and for supporting your nortthern connection. Your patience means a great deal to our team, and we’re committed to continuing to provide safe, reliable service to the communities we serve

What an incredible day in Fort Albany celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day!

The numbers tell part of the story: 150 burgers, 150 hot dogs, 150 sausages, 8 hand-carved watermelons, and over 400 Timbits served. But what made this event truly special was the people.

When we arrived, we were welcomed by four women drummers. Curious about the song they were singing, I asked about its meaning and was told it was a travelling song. It was a beautiful and powerful way to begin the day.

Kitchi-miigwech to everyone who helped make this event such a success, especially Chief Robert Nakogee and Deputy Chief Jacqueline Sutherland for joining us in acknowledging and celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day with the community.

Our Thunder Airlines team really stepped up. It was amazing to see everyone pitch in wherever they were needed. From serving food to setting up and cleaning up, it was a true team effort.

A special shout-out to Brody Emery, our Vice President of Sales and Development, who traded his office for the grill and became Grill Master for the day! Our pilots and maintenance team also rolled up their sleeves and worked tirelessly to help serve the community.

Congratulations to our Grand prize winner Saul! He won himself 2 roundtrip tickets to Timmins! Various Cargo prizes were won by Maurice, Linda and Alice!!

Thank you, Fort Albany, for the warm welcome, the smiles, the conversations, and for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful day. We are already looking forward to next year!

✈️ Sometimes the most meaningful flights aren't about the destination—they're about the memories they create. ❤️

A little while ago, our Senior Captain Camille's mom reached out with a special request. She wondered if we could help surprise Camille by arranging for her 96-year-old grandfather to take a flight with his granddaughter at the controls.

Of course, we wanted to make it happen.

The planning began quietly behind the scenes. After Camille left the Muskoka area following a visit with her parents, her parents and grandfather hit the road and made the drive to Timmins, keeping the entire plan a secret.

When the surprise finally came together, it was a truly beautiful moment to witness. There were smiles, confusion, and a memory that will be treasured for years to come.

At Thunder Airlines, we're proud to connect communities every day, but it's moments like these that remind us what aviation is really about—bringing people together and creating memories that last a lifetime.

Thank you to Camille and her family for letting us be part of something so special. ❤️
