Earlier this week, we partnered with our friends at Breton Ability for a pop-up Albitea’s Café experience for our passengers and team members. Through conversations, Cape Breton-shaped oatcakes, and information about their programs, they shared the incredible work they do to support individuals and families throughout our community.

The team also introduced their sensory packs, helping raise awareness about tools and resources that can make travel more welcoming and accessible for passengers with sensory sensitivities.

As part of National AccessAbility Week, it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate inclusion, accessibility, and the community partnerships that help make Cape Breton a more welcoming place for everyone.

We had so much fun and this was a big hit with passengers and staff alike —stay tuned to see what we have planned next! 👀

🐾 This National AccessAbility Week, we're celebrating the partnerships that help make travel more welcoming, inclusive, and accessible for everyone.

One of our newest partners, St John Ambulance NS/PEI Therapy Dog Program, has already made a meaningful impact at the McCurdy Sydney Airport. Rosie and Franklin (pictured below) help ease anxiety, provide comfort, and bring plenty of smiles to both passengers and staff.

Whether it's a first flight, a stressful travel day, or simply needing a friendly face, these four-legged ambassadors are helping create a more positive airport experience for all.

Keep an eye out for little Rosie this afternoon before our Montréal service! 🐶❤️

Did you know that Air Canada was the first North American airline to join the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program, helping create a more accessible and inclusive travel experience for guests with non-visible disabilities and conditions 🌻

The Sunflower program provides a voluntary way for travelers to discreetly indicate that they may need extra help, understanding, or time throughout their journey. By wearing a Sunflower lanyard, guests can let airport and airline staff know they may benefit from additional support.

Sunflower lanyards are available at participating Canadian airports, including at our Air Canada counter.

She’s poured so much hard work, heart, and dedication into making this dream a reality, and we’re so excited to see her business becoming a part of the airport in such a big way.
