History signed and sealed! On July 25, community members had the opportunity to leave their mark and sign a panel enclosed with a concrete guideway segment.

Once the 15 panels of signatures were installed inside the segment, the Langley Launcher installed it into the guideway just east of 64 Avenue in Surrey.

Now the segment and all the signatures form part of the Surrey Langley SkyTrain alignment!

Surrey Sprinter update: in this photo from July, this launching gantry is about to cross 96 Avenue!

Before the Surrey Sprinter’s arrival, these guideway segments were installed by crane on both sides of the 96 Avenue. The launching gantry now works to connect the segments.

Langley Launcher update: this launching gantry is moving steadily towards Langley City!

Here, it’s building the span over 64th Avenue, the last major street to cross before arriving at Willowbrook Drive and Willowbrook Station this fall.

This aerial shot shows steel beams installed for the guideway west of Highway 15.

While most of the guideway is built using concrete segments, steel beams are being used in a few locations instead due to design and constructability considerations.

Last month, the community showed up and joined us in making their mark on this future SkyTrain extension. 15 panels of signatures were signed and placed inside a concrete guideway segment, cementing this moment in time.
