The United Truckers Association was pleased to host the OBCCTC, including Commissioner Glen MacInnes and Deputy Commissioner Karm Jauhal, at the UTA office in Surrey for a positive and productive discussion on key issues affecting truckers in the container trucking industry.

The issues discussed included lack of work, tag mobility, fuel surcharge concerns, dispatch problems, and illegal container moves by untagged trucks.

Today, Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Gagan Singh attended the OBCCTC Industry Advisory Committee meeting on behalf of UTA, where these same concerns were raised again.

UTA’s message is simple: tagged truckers deserve fair work, fair treatment, and full-time equivalent opportunities.

Brothers, if you are not getting enough work, if your company is not providing you proper full-time equivalent work, or if you know about untagged trucks doing container moves, please speak up.

ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸਮੂਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰਨਾ, ਹਰ ਜ਼ਾਲਮ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਡਟ ਕੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਊਣਾ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੁੱਢ ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਸਾਡੀ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਯੂਟੀਏ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਇਸੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਹੀ ਰਾਹ ‘ਤੇ ਚੱਲਦਿਆਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

ਆਪ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੱਖ ਲੱਖ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ।

The Creation of the Khalsa was a divine light for humanity. A message of equality, dignity, and oneness for all people. It gave the strength to stand fearlessly against oppression. And taught us to live with Nirbhau and Nirvair, Without fear. Without hatred.
This timeless teaching has guided generations on the path of truth, courage, and service.
From the beginning until today, UTA has also followed this same path.

ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸਮੂਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਣਾ ਸੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਸਾਡੀ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਯੂਟੀਏ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਰੰਭ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਇਸੇ ਸੋਚ, ਇਸੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਆਪ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੱਖ ਲੱਖ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ।

The creation of the Khalsa was rooted in the great principle of equality for all and in standing fearlessly against oppression. This is the timeless teaching given by the Guru Sahiban, one that has guided us from the beginning and continues to guide us today. UTA, from its very start until now, has also followed this same principle and continued to work along that path.

ਸਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਜੀ,

ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਖਾਤੇ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਹੁਣ ਅਪੀਲ ਪਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੋ ਦਿਨ ਬੀਤ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਉੱਘ ਸੁੱਘ ਨਹੀਂ।

ਪਰਸੋਂ ਟਵਿਟਰ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਖਾਤਾ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਅਪੀਲ ਪਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਚੱਲ ਪਿਆ।

ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਰ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਲਈ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਪੋਸਟ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਸੋ, ਲੋਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਮਹਿੰਗੀ ਪਈ।

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਜਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਫਿਕਰਮੰਦੀ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਨਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਪੋਸਟਾਂ ਪਾਈਆਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਮਨੋਂ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ। ਇਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਕਤਾਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੰਬੀ ਹੈ।

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਖਾਤੇ ਬੰਦ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਮਨਾਈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਭਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਉਹ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਨੇ।

UTA and K-Alliance Union will respectfully host a Sri Sehaj Paath Sahib Ji Bhog and Ardaas in dedication to Shaheed Bhai Kartar Singh Sarabha Ji’s martyrdom, and for the health, peace, chardi kala, and gratitude of the trucking fraternity. An open invitation is extended to the entire community to attend this event with their families. Let us all come together and offer prayers before Guru Sahib, so that Guru Sahib may grant us the strength to walk the path shown by the martyrs.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day), we stand together as truckers and essential workers in solidarity with Indigenous communities across Canada.

We honour the survivors, families, and communities impacted by residential schools, and we recognize the deep wounds that continue to this day. Today, we pause to reflect on the importance of truth, justice, and healing.

As truckers travelling across this vast land, we acknowledge the history and significance it holds for Indigenous Peoples. We are committed to ongoing learning and to supporting reconciliation efforts—advocating for fairness, respect, and equity for all.

Let’s take a moment to remember and to pledge to work toward a future where every community can thrive with dignity and respect. Every Child Matters.

📢 Fair Access to the I/O List for Company Drivers

The United Truckers Association (UTA) has prepared a formal proposal to be submitted to the Office of the British Columbia Container Trucking Commissioner (OBCCTC).

This proposal calls for opening access to the Independent Operator (I/O) list through a fair, seniority-based lottery system exclusively for Company Drivers in the system.

Provide long-serving Company Drivers—who have dedicated years to this industry—

With a transparent and equitable opportunity to transition into Independent Operators.

Today marks two years since we lost one of UTA's strongest supporters and our beloved brother, Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

"ਸੂਰਾ ਸੋ ਪਹਿਚਾਨੀਐ ਜੋ ਲਰੈ ਦੀਨ ਕੇ ਹੇਤ ॥
ਪੁਰਜਾ-ਪੁਰਜਾ ਕਟ ਮਰੈ ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਛਾਡੈ ਖੇਤ ॥"
— (Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Ang 1105)

Transliteration:
Soora so pehchaaniye jo lare deen ke het,
Purja-purja kat marai, kabhū na chhāḍai khet.

Translation:
A true warrior is known to be the one who fights for the cause of righteousness. He may be cut limb by limb, but never deserts the battlefield.

Bhai Hardeep Singh Nijjar was a tireless advocate—not only for our community here in Canada, but also for those facing injustice in Punjab and beyond. He stood with every cause rooted in truth, equality, and human rights.

His absence is deeply felt, but his legacy of courage and community service continues to inspire us.

We are still waiting for justice.

Rest in peace, Bhai Hardeep Singh Nijjar. You will never be forgotten.
