From 36 years of family moves, we've learned this: kids don't need the move to be painless. They need a proper goodbye.

What helps: tell the school early so teachers can build in a real send-off. Make a concrete friend plan: addresses written down, the first video call already booked. Do a farewell tour of their favourite places and say out loud what's happening. Give them a real job in the move: a child who packs their own "opens first" box gets a little control back, and that changes a lot.

Well-done goodbyes make the hellos easier.

A few things our crews wish every customer knew: keep boxes under 50 lbs, lift with your legs, hydrate even in cool weather, wear closed-toe shoes with grip, and build in breaks.
