Happy Birthday to the man behind this beautiful team of horses at Thunder Ridge Farm.

The one who drives these big boys with steady hands, hauls them from place to place without a complaint, and cares for them with the kind of dedication most people never see.

Today is about celebrating you—the quiet, behind‑the‑scenes work, the early mornings, the grooming of trails, the maintence for both sleigh and horses, the long hauls. He keeps the wheels turning, the horses happy, and the rest of us pretending we know what we’re doing.

Thunder Ridge wouldn’t be what it is without you! Please take a moment to thank Dan for all the things he does to keep providing these services the best he can!

What an incredible end to the 2025 season, and a busy 2 weeks of holiday craziness it’s been. From the jingling harness bells to the sound of families laughing under the Christmas lights, our holiday sleigh rides were truly something special. We’re so grateful for every single person who bundled up, made the trip to the farm, and shared a little Christmas magic with Rocket, Rebel, and the whole Thunder Ridge crew.

We also want to extend a sincere apology to the families we weren’t able to get out to during the rain and freezing rain. Safety—for our guests and our horses—will always come first, and we appreciate your understanding more than you know.

As we head into the rest of winter, we’ll be shifting to weekend sleigh rides only, and we’ll keep rolling as long as the snow sticks around. ❄️

Thank you again for supporting our small farm, loving our animals, and making this season unforgettable. We can’t wait to see you on the next ride.

Catch a ride Saturday December 6th!! At Kearney Fire & Emergency Services Christmas party

Final preparations are underway and your Kearney Fire and Emergency Services team is gearing up for another snowy Christmas event.

Bring the kids out for a horse and wagon ride with the great team at Thunder Ridge Farm 🐎 or go for a dog sled ride with our friends over at The North Ranch. 🐶 Come inside to warm up with some hot chocolate ☕️ and cookies 🍪 while the kids play lots of games and do a craft.

We are excited to see you all this Saturday December 6 between 2PM-5PM. Santa 🎅 is coming into town early so be sure you’re no longer on the naughty list!!

🎄✨ Holiday Magic is in the Air! ✨🎄

We’re excited to share that Thunder Ridge will be part of two wonderful community celebrations this December:

• Kearney Christmas Event – Saturday, December 6th from 2–5 PM
• Sundridge Tree Lighting – Sunday, December 7th from 5:30–7:30 PM

Both events are filled with holiday cheer, community spirit, and the perfect way to kick off the season. We can’t wait to see familiar faces, meet new friends, and celebrate together under the sparkle of Christmas lights.

Kearney Fire and Emergency Services has been busy behind the bunker gear getting ready for our second annual Christmas 🎄 event. We have planned lots of fun games, crafts, dog sled rides and again Thunder Ridge Farm will be there with their horses for wagon rides. Of course there will be hot chocolate ☕️ to warm up after

Santa 🎅 might even make an appearance so be sure to come on by December 6th!!!

Hey Thunder Ridge Family!

As we wrap up another epic summer of wagon rides, festivals, and events, we’re heading into that magical time of year when the air gets crisp, and the inbox explodes with sleigh ride requests❄️

Yes — we will be operating this winter!
But as always, we’re in a committed relationship with Mother Nature… and she’s moody. It takes weeks to prep our trails and a mountain of feed to keep our big boys, Rocket and Rebel, fueled up and fabulous.

Let’s get one thing straight:
Rocket and Rebel are family. Not machines. Not snowmobiles. Not furry Uber drivers. 💙

So here’s when we do not operate:

• If it’s icy and even their studded shoes turn into Bambi-on-ice. 🦌⛸️
• If there’s only 1” of snow with a side of mud soup
❄️🥣
• If they’re feeling under the weather, overworked, or just need a spa day 💅
•If we get buried in a snowpocalypse and the trails disappear under 3 feet of fluff — we’re not digging a sleigh tunnel, folks! 🚫❄️
•If it’s pouring rain and the trails turn into a slip-n-slide — Rocket and Rebel are not aquatic creatures. 🐴🌧️

We know some families have been waiting years for the stars (and snowflakes) to align, and we’re so grateful for your patience. You’ll get first dibs when the trails are ready!

But if you think these majestic boys are just horsepower with hooves — we will kindly (and firmly) turn you away. No exceptions. No sleigh rides for the Grinch.

Keep your eyes peeled 👀 for updates so you can book your spot for the 2025/2026 season. We love our Thunder Ridge fans more than Rocket loves his post-ride snacks.
