From deliveries to tee times! 🚚⛳️

Last Thursday, we were proud to sponsor the Rosetown Golf Club Men's Night!

It was a great opportunity to get out in the community, enjoy some time on the course, and connect with the people and customers who make these events so special.

We’re always happy to support the communities we serve, both on and off the road. 🙌

30 Years. One Incredible Journey. 🇨🇦

Today, September 18, 2026, Custom Courier proudly celebrates 30 years in business.

What began in 1996 with three people, five owner-operators and two small offices has grown into a transportation and logistics company serving customers across Saskatchewan and beyond.

The vehicles have changed. The services have expanded. New people, new owners, new technology and new opportunities have carried the company forward.
But the idea at the heart of Custom Courier hasn't changed:
Take care of your people. Take care of your customers. Build relationships that last.

To every driver, employee, customer, supplier, partner and friend who has been part of these 30 years — thank you. This milestone belongs to all of you.

Here's to the first 30 years — and everything still to come.

Share a Custom Courier memory in the comments, follow our page to be part of the next chapter, and stay tuned. We're just getting started.

30 Years of Custom Courier | Part 6: Connecting Saskatchewan

In 2025, another major chapter began when SENDR Shipping merged with Custom Courier.

SENDR Shipping, owned by Eric Gryba, brought another strong Saskatchewan transportation business into the Custom Courier family.

The goal wasn't to change what customers already trusted. It was to build on it.

Together, Custom Courier and SENDR could offer expanded service coverage, greater delivery capacity and more options while maintaining the teams and relationships customers already knew.

Eric also joined Custom Courier as a partner, helping drive business development and the company's continued growth.

From five owner-operators in 1996 to an increasingly connected transportation and logistics network nearly 30 years later, the company continued doing what it had always done: Growing to meet the needs of its customers.

Were you a SENDR or Custom Courier customer before the merger? Let us know below, follow our page and stay tuned — tomorrow we celebrate 30 years.

30 Years of Custom Courier | Part 5: Passing the Torch

As Custom Courier continued to grow, founder Stacey Kliewer began thinking about what the next chapter of the company should look like.

For Stacey, it was important that Custom Courier remain in the hands of people who understood its employees, customers, history and the culture that had been built over decades.

Those people were Bryan Thiessen and Jason Gelowitz.

Both had already grown into leadership roles within Custom Courier, and over time, ownership of the company transitioned to Bryan and Jason.

In 2023, Stacey officially retired, knowing the business was being carried forward by people who had already spent years helping shape it.

New ownership. A new chapter. But the same commitment to people, relationships and service that Custom Courier was built on.

Have you worked with Bryan or Jason over the years? Give them a shout-out in the comments, follow our page and stay tuned for Part 6.

30 Years of Custom Courier | Part 4: More Than A Company

In 2009, Custom Courier faced one of the hardest chapters in its history when co-founder Louella Kliewer became seriously ill.

Louella had been part of the company from Day One. She knew the drivers and staff personally and had become, in Stacey's words, the heart of the Custom Courier family.

As Stacey stepped away from the business to focus on Louella and their family, the team gave him a simple message: Go. We'll handle things.

For nearly two years, Custom Courier's staff and management carried the company forward. When Stacey returned, he found they hadn't simply maintained the business — they had continued growing it.

Louella passed away in 2011, but the culture she helped build remains an important part of the company's story.

Thirty years of Custom Courier is ultimately a story about people.

If Custom Courier has been part of your story, we'd love to hear about it below. Follow our page and stay tuned for Part 5.

30 Years of Custom Courier | Part 3: Growing With Our Customers

Custom Courier's earliest deliveries were mostly envelopes, documents, automotive parts and smaller shipments.

Then customers started asking for more.

By 1997, trucks with pipe racks were being added to handle hot-water tanks, plumbing supplies, lumber and construction materials.

In 1998, another major step came when John Steel offered to put a one-ton flat deck on the fleet. Soon, Custom Courier was moving loads weighing thousands of pounds and providing hotshot and direct-drive service across Saskatchewan.

From there came tilt decks, semis, picker trucks and specialized curtain trailers.
By the mid-to-late 2000s, the fleet had grown to roughly 65–70 vehicles.

What started as a local courier company was becoming something much broader: a transportation partner capable of solving increasingly complex delivery challenges.
That evolution continues today.

30 Years of Custom Courier | Part 2: Experience The Difference

From the beginning, Custom Courier was built around a simple belief: Take care of your people, and they'll take care of your customers.

Owner-operators were offered higher commissions, faster payment cycles and fewer unnecessary expenses. Drivers weren't required to repaint their vehicles or purchase expensive uniforms.

But it went beyond compensation.

There were monthly barbecues, driver awards, newsletters, team meetings and a culture where people could actually enjoy coming to work. And people stayed.

By January 1998, driver turnover was approximately 26%, dramatically lower than the turnover Stacey Kliewer had experienced elsewhere in the industry.

Customers noticed that consistency — and referrals followed.

It was this philosophy that gave meaning to a phrase that is still part of Custom Courier today: Experience the Difference.

What does “Experience the Difference” mean to you? Tell us below, follow our page and stay tuned for Part 3.

30 Years of Custom Courier | Part 1: Where It All Began

In October 1996, Custom Courier started small. Founders Stacey and Louella Kliewer and Shaun Stearn opened the doors with five owner-operators and a six-month lease on two small offices at the Norplex Business Centre on Avenue C North.

Zep All Care became the first customer. Merlin Motors followed soon after.

There wasn't a big team behind the scenes. Shaun answered phones and dispatched drivers while Stacey spent his days knocking on doors, finding customers and recruiting drivers — then handled quotes, interviews and paperwork in the evenings.
Six months later, Custom Courier was already growing.

By April 1997, the company had moved into a full commercial bay and expanded to approximately 16 drivers.

Thirty years later, it's incredible to think about where it all started.

Were you a Custom Courier customer, driver or employee in those early years? Tell us in the comments, follow our page and stay tuned for Part 2.

For 30 years, Custom Courier and SENDR Shipping have been proud to serve Saskatchewan and support the communities we call home.

This fall, we're coming together once again to help local families through three important community initiatives:
